Re: Medford Race
Sounds like you need a race fix real bad? I'll tell you this, your not the only one. Looks like gas prices are slowly coming down. I almost had to sale my first born to pay the travel fuel last race. Wait it minute, that's my driver....probably not a good idea. But I do keep my lic current for leverage
Look forward to seeing all of you again. Miss those late night dinners.

Yea Ron, its been way to long. You can sell your first born but that will get you maybe to Redding . Isn't there a young lady ready to take his seat anyway We're almost ready to test on the 27th.

Yes Makinna has been in the 6.80's with the Red car and ready for more. We had it full on at Redding for her, but couldn't get it to go straight down the track on some borrowed tires.
She is ready to get after it now for sure.

Re: Medford Race
Hey now you two your going to hurt my feelings. Oh that's right I don't have any.
Joshua turns 16 on May 23 that's the one I have to watch out for,he's hungry.
It was so incredible to watch my 15 year old son start a Blown alcohol car on the starting line at Redding.
He is driving us home right now from football practice, just at 55 mph not 200 mph that will come soon enough.
So don't write me off yet

55mph on the back road to the house. Josh and I found a hornets nest in the neighbors tree yesterday. Man it is around 2' tall by18" round and they are building a second one. Very dangerous just like me ha ha. This phone i4 is incredible still sooooo much to learn with it.

Re: Medford Race
Hey Steve, the word out of the Northwest is 4 or 5 cars are coming down for the race. So the total will depend on how many head North from Calif. Hopefully we will get a full 8 car field on race day.
Looking forward to some racing and hanging out with you all.

Re: Medford Race
You guys were certainly on a run when that belt let go. Butch probably thought his chin was going to hit the dash with the negative g's. Pulling the index off for the final round was certainly fun. I'd hopped ours up pretty good too but no way were we going to catch you guys. Mid track when our car got loose and Curtis showed everyone all around the writing on both sides of the car, He clicked it off to straighten it up, then saw that Butch was slowing and he rolled into the throttle again and still posted a 6.52. I sure would have liked to see what we would have run on a clean pass also. It was slipping real bad on the 60' also, only posting a 1.00 flat. If the track would have held it would have been at least a .980 or less.
Well ,.........you know what drag racers say,....maybe next time!

Re: Medford Race
Yea next time. Got home and found a broken crank We changed engines and are just about ready to go. If the blower belt would have held we would have gone up in a ball of flames or it would have been a 5 sec pass. The engine we put in isn't our go fast engine ( small heads )so no hero passes this time.
Ron it sure makes all of us feel good to see you running so good, keep it up.
By the way the engine with the broken crank leaked down good and had perfect comp, already have a new crank waitting to be balanced.
TIRE SHAKE SUCKS.

Re: Medford Race
Yea!! That could have been hasty to run over the crank. Some times we can be thankful for a little broken part that saved us from a big or even dangerous experience.
That thimble pulley (top pulley) comes with a price tag for sure.
You have a good one Steve. Say hi to Pete from us when you see him again.
Blessings..........Ron
